A Little More on

Who We Are

Wings of Hope is a registered non-profit Christian retreat for women of all ages. The mission is to create and maintain a safe and healthy environment that fosters and promotes social, educational, emotional, and spiritual growth for women through teachings, counseling, and group interactions. Wings of Hope embraces a vision to empower our ladies to be valiant women, injecting and celebrating hope in the lives of the hopeless.

What We Do

The annual retreat is a 4-day and 3-night event where women come together to share their experiences, learn from dynamic guest speakers, and explore issues facing women today. The retreat caters to both the spiritual and physical needs of participants, with a focus on Bible-based perspectives. The goal is to touch the lives of women in the church and community. It’s held at a beautiful resort, giving attendees an opportunity to relax, worship, and enjoy some me-time away from everyday life.

History &
Mission

History

The ladies’ retreat was started in 1996 by Dawn Hopwood to provide a beautiful experience for hurting women in the body of Christ. Dawn and her team wanted to create a period of fellowship for women to remove themselves from their everyday life, chores, and occupation. The first retreat had about 35 ladies and has grown over the years, with locations including Port St. Lucie, Bradenton, Orlando, and now Kissimmee, Florida. From its initial gathering of 35 women, the retreat has now grown to over 200 attendees primarily from Florida and overseas.

Mission

Wings of Hope has a motto, reaching up to God and reaching out to others. Its mission is to create and maintain a safe and healthy environment that fosters and promotes social, educational, emotional, and spiritual growth for women through teachings, counseling, and group interactions. This is driven by the vision to be valiant women injecting and celebrating hope in the lives of the hopeless.

A Message from the Founder

I recognized that there are many hurting women in the body of Christ, so I wanted to create a beautiful experience for them by taking them on a trip to a lovely retreat. My hope was that the retreat would help the women find healing through sharing their experiences, fostering closer friendships, and enhancing their relationships with Christ.

Seeing lives being transformed through the Word of God has been an exciting journey. Each year has been uplifting, and I thank God for the transformations I’ve witnessed. Wings of Hope has grown from a mere gathering into a powerful ministry catering to women’s needs. I encourage you to come along, let your hair down, forget about your daily tasks, and let us connect and uplift each other.
